Transition KS1-2 / 'Invisible Pupils' Raising attainment

The focus of the project is:
Focus Question: Will closer working relationships between the Infants and Junior school impact on the progress of those invisible children who have made little or no progress in writing?
I (K.Shiambi) will be the lead person and the partner school is Carterhatch Infants. We will set up a series of meetings throughout the year with a particular focui and tasks.
Describe how your proposed project is innovative and explain how it ensures the development of excellence?
    •    Building relationships and expertise across the two schools – networking
    •    Sharing good practice through trio observations and moderating of pupils work
    •    Greater consistency and smoother transition between the two Key Stages.
 
What is the time frame/plan of action for your project?
Network meeting - share action plan & identify target pupils 1 st Autumn
Trio observations – invisible children/writing Autumn 2
Book sampling and levelling – spring 1
Network meeting – shared practice spring 2
Pupil progress meeting – summer 1
moderation of SATs – summer 2
What are your process of evidence collection and evaluation to measure impact (methodology)?
    •    Pupil, parent questionnaires
    •    Pupil levelling – base line/SATs
    •    Observations of pupils in class.
    •    Pupil work samples
 
What outcomes are you expecting – how could these be demonstrated/shared?
We are expecting several outcomes:
    •    Standards in writing improving in year 2/3
    •    Closer links – communication, consistency and closer relationships between the Infants and Juniors – ‘Transition’.
    •    Raising self esteem and confidence with identified invisible children.
