The focus of the project is:
How do we develop transferable higher level thinking skills in our gifted and talented students prior to key stage 4?
How do we as a specialist status technology college utilise 21 st century technologies to impact on the above?
Partners schools- Secondary’s; Albany and Salisbury; Primaries; Raglan, Galliard and Churchfield.
Representatives from each school meeting to plan and review half termly led by Edmonton County School
 
Describe how your proposed project is innovative and explain how it ensures the development of excellence?
Providing out of classroom experiences to expand and explore learning.
Utilising key stage 3 students as facilitators in primary schools.
Active learning utilising community cohesion and work related opportunities.
Extending use of media and technology to enhance thinking skills across all year groups.
 
What is the time frame/plan of action for your project?
 
ECS preparation activities- Year 7 2008- now completed
March 27 th- 25 G and T students attend analytical skills workshop
June 20 th - 25 G and T students attend analytical skills workshop
This will, ensure coverage of all G and T students on the current year 7 register.
Activities whole school- Spring and summer term 2008 at ECS in preparation
    •    Train student and staff facilitators in use of stop frame animation, blue screen and vox pop.
    •    Deliver two separate workshop days for years 7 and 10
    •    Provide staff time to utilise the skills learnt in planning active lessons using media aimed at developing student responsibility and thinking skills.
    •    Pilot new projects in a range of subject areas after the start of the new timetable in June.
Activities all schools summer term 2008
    •    Planning meetings with all schools June and July.
    •    Pre conferences meetings with separate sectors, September secondary, November primary.
    •    Secondary conference, 16 and 17 th September, G and T year 9
    •    Primary conference November 11, G and T Year 6.
    •    Post conference planning meetings December 2008 and January 2009 to inform Spring and summer term activities.
 
Activities may include;
    •    Middlesex university science day.
    •    Cross school enterprise days.
    •    Master classes facilitated by year 9 in primaries and year 6 with year 5.
    •    Year 7 aim higher trips.
    •    Industrial and economic understanding day using skills gained from conferences
What outcomes are you expecting – how could these be demonstrated/shared?
Outcomes and success criteria
    •    CVA scores increase in particular with identified G and T students.
    •    Whole school data collection process utilising academic monitoring and linked to FFTD data shows G and T students attaining or exceeding aspirational targets (FFTD).
