Name of School: Turin Grove
Contact person: Jessica Ward/Margy Knutson - Jessie-alice@hotmail.com

The focus of the project is on enriching teaching and learning by extending teachers’ creativity across KS2/3. Turin Grove will work with two key feeder schools: Cuckoo and Eldon. The aim is to plan the details of the project together with fortnightly meetings in the autumn term, shared inset and observations.
The project will be led by Jessica Ward/Margy Knutson at Turin Grove.
The project will be innovative:
    •    by engaging teachers and student leaders in discussions about creativity
    •    by offering teachers creative experiences to raise their confidence in their own creativity
    •    by deepening the learning experience
    •    by including student leaders in the planning and evaluation of the project
    •    by developing closer links between teachers across phases
    •    by integrating the project with innovative curriculum for year 7s
The project ensures the development of excellence by empowering teachers to take risks, to teach to all learning styles, to engage the imagination, creativity and emotions of students in the learning process and by developing leadership skills in student leaders.

The proposed timetable/action plan is as follows:
Sept/Oct: Planning meetings within Turin Grove and primary teachers and student leaders
Oct/January: Insets for teachers; workshops for students
February: Implementation of ideas in lessons;
March/April: Observations/evaluation

We propose to gather evidence and evaluate the project to measure impact by:
An initial summary of teachers’ understanding of creativity and student leaders’ responses to different styles of teaching.
Paper evaluations/interviews with teachers during inset sessions
Observations of focused lessons by student leaders (possible videos)
Evaluation of focused lessons by teachers/ pupils/students
Outcomes and how they could be demonstrated/shared
Pupils/students more engaged in learning
More confident teaching
Greater professional understanding of different key stages and levels
Roll out across another year group or department led by pilot teachers, TAs, student leaders, students, pupils
Presentations in assemblies/to parent groups.
Explanation of project in parents’ newsletter.
